Myocardial Infarction
Description of the disease:
Myocardial infarction is a serious condition involving necrosis (death) of a part of the heart muscle due to impaired blood supply to that area. This occurs when one of the coronary vessels responsible for supplying oxygen and nutrients to the heart becomes blocked.
Classification:
Myocardial infarction can be classified based on the size of the affected area of the heart and the degree of impairment of heart muscle function.
Symptoms:
Chest pain, which may radiate to the left shoulder and left arm
Shortness of breath
Weakness and dizziness
Causes:
The main cause of myocardial infarction is the formation of a thrombus in a coronary vessel, obstructing normal blood flow.
Diagnosis:
ECG
Blood tests for markers of heart muscle necrosis
Coronary angiography (X-ray examination of the heart vessels)
Treatment:
Treatment of myocardial infarction may include medication, angioplasty, bypass surgery, and rehabilitation measures.
Prevention:
Control of cholesterol levels and blood pressure
Healthy lifestyle, including healthy diet and regular physical activity
Physician:
The treatment and diagnosis of myocardial infarction are carried out by a cardiologist.
